ABOUT US: Eagle Builders Foundation (EBF) is a national development-driven, non-governmental organization established to respond to social, economic, physical and educational need of young people to contribute to the economy of Nigeria especially in making Nigeria Economy Transformation a reality. EBF works in partnership with community agencies, faith-based organizations, corporate entities and governmental departments to address community and national issues through capacity building and public education. EBF promotes the involvement and participation of young people, student and women in planning, implementing and execution of programs and projects gear towards to address societal challenges. The organization activities and services are structured to positively address the need of children, youth, women and adults in community irrespective of tribe, age, gender, religion, etc. EBF is devoted to policy advocacy, lobbying, research, information dissemination, networking and partnership for sharing information, skills and capacity building on good governance.
VISION: To create a more just, sustainable, equitable society, democracy and good governance with young people and their communities through service.
MISSION: To empower young people to realize their rights and responsibilities and influence policies that promote good governance, democracy and the rule of law for sustainable development and good quality of life.
CORE AREAS: The organization incorporates the following core areas:
1. YOUTH LEADERSHIP TRAINING (YLT) – This program is design to sensitize youth to embrace leadership and good governance for accelerated development. Youth Leadership Training (YLT) provide opportunities for both young people and adult to work as advocates and to have a say in how policies are made whether at the local, state and national level. Opportunities include researching and documents local and national issues, creating campaign to shift community attitude, drafting suggestions for and working with local governments to enact policy change and learning leadership skills necessary to inspire others to get involved.
OBJECTIVES OF YOUTH LEADERSHIP TRAINING
1. Promote egalitarian leadership govern by equity, fairness and justice.
2. Defend and instill democratic culture among citizens and ensure that they fulfill their responsibilities in the social contract (ideals and principles of governance).
3. Defend, protect and propagate the good policies of government at the national, state and local government level.
4. Coordinate youth leadership, mentorship, skill development, apprenticeship and internship programs.
5. Facilitates training programs and work with community agencies, government departments and businesses in different skills, trades and professions.
6. Prepare and assist youth acquire new and marketable skills to participate in the new global businesses and governance.
7. Organize workshops and seminars on youth related issues, public engagement and civic responsibility.
8. Promote human rights, good governance and democracy and enhance equal participation in the overall development process.
9. Promote and strengthen collective empowerment and facilitate dialogue and information sharing amongst young people to promote advocacy toward development.
10. Assist young people in creating a foundation of principles and values that serve them in being more effective individuals and society members.
CORE ACTIVITIES:
1. Engagement with local leaders and policy makers on human rights and good governance.
2. Capacity building of CSOs to advocate and lobby for effective leadership and good governance.
3. Sensitization workshop on democracy and good governance.
4. Provide Technical Support for CSOs.

YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP TRAINING (YET) – Youth Entrepreneurship Training is a comprehensive and innovative platform to encourage young male and female to participate in entrepreneurship and business. It will provide business and entrepreneurial training to equip aspiring entrepreneurs with the vital skills to build, operate and maintain successful businesses. YET is design to gather thoughts and ideas from entrepreneurs to encourage more young people to participate in entrepreneurship.
OBJECTIVES OF YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP TRAINING (YET):
1. Provide counseling and technical assistance in all areas pertinent for start-ups and business expansions.
2. Create innovative and effective changes in the business culture through strategic alliance, coalitions and affiliations.
3. Provide comprehensive business education and increase access to financial resources.
4. Assist economically and socially disadvantaged youth to make educated decisions about pursuing the dreams of business ownership.
5. Promote economic development through entrepreneurial assistance and advocacy for youth.
6. Provide business resources and tools including information about grants and loans.
7. Strengthen wealth-creating capacity of young people and promote job creation through entrepreneurship.
WOMEN ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM (WEEP) – Women Economic Empowerment Program (WEEP) is dedicated to promote the growth of women-owned businesses through programs that offer business counseling, mentoring, training and technical, financial and procurement assistance. It is an entrepreneurial training program designed to help economically disadvantaged women become self-sufficient through business development. WEEP is to provide women including those who are economically and socially disadvantaged with the knowledge and expertise to make informed decisions and actions to improve their financial position in life. WEEP is aim to help women build financially sound businesses across each stage of development (start-up, management and expansion).
OBJECTIVES OF WOMEN ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM (WEEP):
1. Provide training, management assistance and access to credit to women across Nigeria who own business.
2. Provide financing and technical assistance to women businesses which in turn provide income, ownership or employment opportunities to low-income people.
3. Provide the education and resources that will allow them to strive toward their dream of achieving self-fulfillment and positive economic change.
4. Help women to start, stabilize or expand their small businesses, identify and address barriers for women who own businesses; raise public awareness of women entrepreneurs and advocate for women who own businesses.
5. Educates women on all aspects of business development, including principles of business management, social responsibility and building wealth.
6. Provides training, counseling and technical assistance in the area of finance, management, procurement and marketing.
7. Strengthen the wealth-creating capacity of women, promote economic development and create innovative and effective changes in the business culture.
8. Provides resources and referrals services for women at all stages of small business development paying particular attention to assistance with writing business plans and ongoing support for women already in business.
ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION AWARENESS PROGRAM (ESAP) - The culture of cleanliness is fast eroding and that is why people littered the street, dump refuse indiscriminately and take delight in activities inimical to the well-being of the environment. Gutters and culverts are converted into refuse dumps emitting offensive odour capable of annihilating the entire population should an epidemic break out. Improper management of waste triggers severe environmental and health problems in our society. The majority of diseases we experienced today are partly due to the failure to dispose of garbage correctly. These have resulted in many devastating diseases such as dysentery, diarrhea, scabies, typhoid and malaria becoming widespread among our communities.
Sustainability of a healthy and conducive environment has taken a key point on the 8 Points Agenda of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) thereby giving government, individuals and organizations the mandate of ensuring adequate policies that will aim toward the enhancements of good and healthy environment for the well-being of the public.
Environmental Sanitation is said to be activities aimed at improving or maintaining the standard of basic environmental conditions affecting the well-being of people. Therefore, ESAP is an idea developed to promote the improvement of good environmental sanitation in Nigeria. These conditions include:
• Clean and safe water supply
• Clean and safe ambient air
• Efficient and safe animal, human and industrial waste disposal
• Protection of food from biological and chemical contaminants and
• Adequate housing in clean and safe surroundings also known as environmental hygiene.
If we must achieve these environmental conditions, we must bear in mind that the individuals, private organizations, government (agencies) and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) must join hands together, working toward ensuring the well-being of the people in other to actualize this goal. It has been a great passion of our organization to see Akwa Ibom State as one of the notable states in Nigeria in the achievement of POINT 7 of the Millennium Development Goals through adequate provision of healthy and conducive environment for the people of Akwa Ibom State.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION AWARENESS PROGRAMS
1. To create a community sanitation program that will reduce the incident of communicable disease, environmental illness and injuries that may be attributed to sanitation issues within the urban and rural communities.
2. Providing information for the general public on the need to keep and maintain a clean environment through sensitization campaigns/awareness and seminar.
3. Job creation for youth and women through the development of environmental sanitation sustainability in the major cities in Nigeria.
4. Training of Sanitary Workers, Inspectors and Supervisors on environmental sanitation and health related issues.
5. Ensuring that all the drainage/gutters in the city are clean, rehabilitation of beggars and mentally deranged people on the street and also ensuring the planting of green trees and flowers at strategic places within the city.
6. Ensuring proper parking of private vehicles, commercial buses and taxis within the city in other to avoid constant traffic within the city.
7. Promote an efficient waste disposal and collection system.
8. Inculcate the environmental consciousness among our people and prevent pollution and epidemic break out.
